DAY 01: ARRIVAL – PINNAWALA- KANDY TOUR

Upon arrival at the Colombo International Airport you will be greeted by our vista vacations
representative at the arrival lounge.

Transfer to Pinnawala – 2 1⁄2 hours’ drive approximately

See bathing Elephants in the river, feed a baby Elephant at the Orphanage and bathe an Elephant in the river

Pinnawala, located about 13 km northwest of Kegalle towards Kandy, is famous because of the elephant orphanage located in the area. It is a must-visit as it would definitely add an unforgettable experience to your stay in this paradise isle. Established in 1975, it operates as a nursery, orphanage and captive breeding ground for elephants. Unlike many other elephant orphanages such as Udawalawe, visitors at Pinnawala are able to observe elephants, especially the baby jumbos up-close in their pens, being bottle-fed and bathed. You can even feed the baby jumbos upon paying a small fee for a feeding ticket!

Evening visit Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy where Lord Buddha’s Tooth relic is housed, the most venerated city of Sri Lanka

Visit Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy where Lord Buddha’s Tooth relic is housed. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of KandyAfter the parinirvana of Gautama Buddha, the tooth relic was preserved in Kalinga and smuggled to the island by Princess Hemamali and her husband, Prince Dantha on the instructions of her father King Guhasiva.

The Sacred Tooth Relic, which is the Buddha’s left canine was brought here during the reign of king Kithsiri Meghavanna (301-328 B.C.) by Prince Danta and Princess Hemamala from the Kingdom of Kalinga, India.

The temple is open from dawn to dusk. It houses a tooth relic of the Lord Buddha, and is consequently considered one of Sri Lanka’s most holy shrines. Although you may not view
the actual tooth itself, the casket within which it is said to be is displayed twice a day.

DAY 02: KANDY – NUWARAELIYA

After breakfast proceed on a 1⁄2 day Kandy City tour and engage in shopping at the Kandy City Center

Visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden. It is near the Mahaweli River and is renowned for its collection of orchids

As Sri Lanka’s largest garden an elegant and spacious 147-acres (60-hectares) plenty of time is needed to stroll Peradeniya’s imposing Avenue of Royal Palms.

There are some 4,000 different species of plants at Peradeniya Gardens. The 10,000 or so trees, which are the stars, are mature, lofty giants, many of them tropical timber trees. Highlights of the collection include the Giant Bamboo of Burma, capable of growing to 40 meters’ height (130 feet) with a 25-
centimetre (10-inch) stem diameter. And it can grow by a rapid 30 centimeters a day (12 inches).

DAY 03: HORTON PLAINS

After breakfast transfer to Horton Plains National Park

1 1⁄2 hour drive approximately

The Horton Plains plateau comes to a sudden end at World’s End, a stunning escarpment that plunges 880m. The walk here is 4km, but the trail then loops back to Baker’s Falls (2km) and continues back to the entrance (another 3.5km). The 9.5km round trip takes a leisurely three hours. Unless you get there early the view from World’s End is often obscured by mist, particularly during the rainy season from April to September.

DAY 04: NUWARAELIYA – NEGOMBO

After breakfast proceed on a Nuwara Eliya city tour

Situated at around 2000m above sea level and surrounded by lush tea plantations Nuwara Eliya is the main hill resort of Sri Lanka and the heart of the tea industry. Once a pleasure
retreat of the European planters the town is still very much an English town with many English style bungalows and buildings. Nuwara Eliya is a good escape for those who miss cool breeze in tropical Sri Lanka at any time of the year.

Participate on water sports and horse riding at the Lake Gregory.

DAY 06: DEPARTURE
