DAY 01: ARRIVAL – COLOMBO – PINNAWALA- KANDY TOUR

Our Representative will meet & greet you upon arrival at the arrival lobby. After meeting our representative clients will be guided to local banks with in the airport, where clients could change their foreign currencies if they wish and after identifying your language’s, proceed to the Airport coach park, where you will be transferred to Kandy.

Transfer to capital city Colombo – 3 and half-hour drive approximately.

Lunch at Liyya Residence Kandy

After lunch visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden. It is near the Mahaweli River and is renowned for its collection of orchids.

As Sri Lanka’s largest garden an elegant and spacious 147-acres (60-hectares) plenty of time is needed to stroll Peradeniya’s imposing Avenue of Royal Palms.
There are some 4,000 different species of plants at Peradeniya Gardens. The 10,000 or so trees, which are the stars, are mature, lofty giants, many of them tropical timber trees. Highlights of the collection include the Giant Bamboo of Burma, capable of growing to 40 meters height (130 feet) with a 25-centimetre (10-inch) stem diameter. And it can grow by a rapid 30 centimeters a day (12 inches).

Visit Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy where Lord Buddha’s Tooth relic is housed. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of KandyAfter the parinirvana of Gautama Buddha, the tooth relic was preserved in Kalinga and smuggled to the island by Princess Hemamali and her husband, Prince Dantha on the instructions of her father King Guhasiva.

The Sacred Tooth Relic, which is the Buddha’s left canine was brought here during the reign of king Kithsiri Meghavanna (301-328 B.C.) by Prince Danta and Princess Hemamala from the Kingdom of Kalinga, India.

The temple is open from dawn to dusk. It houses a tooth relic of the Lord Buddha, and is consequently considered one of Sri Lanka’s most holy shrines. Although you may not view the actual tooth itself, the casket within which it is said to be is displayed twice a day.

DAY 02: NUWARAELIYA TOUR

Transfer to Nuwara Eliya, by train capital of Ceylon Tea – 3 hours’ drive approximately

Situated at around 2000m above sea level and surrounded by lush tea plantations Nuwara Eliya is the main hill resort of Sri Lanka and the heart of the tea industry. Once a pleasure retreat of the European planters the town is still very much an English town with many English style bungalows and buildings. Nuwara Eliya is a good escape for those who miss cool breeze in tropical Sri Lanka at any time of the year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lunch at a Local Restaurant in Nuwaraeliya

Visit Tea Plantation and factories on the way
Start nature trek through the plantations, explaining how the bushes are picked once a week and pruned every five years. You’ll also see a 95-year-old mother bush, from which around 2,500 cuttings are taken every year.

Guide will entertain you with tales of the wild boar, buffalo and even occasional leopards that roam the area at night! Less alarmingly, he will point out some of the 50 varieties of birds that can be seen locally. Many, like the yellow-eared bulbul or the Sri Lanka white eye, are endemic to this area. You may also see porcupine burrows and beautiful butterflies.

 

Trek through the World’s end and Bakers fall

The 22m Baker’s Falls (sinhalese original name : Gonagala Ella) is noted for the tremendous noise created by water pounding the large rock formation at its foot. Forming part of the Belihul Oya, it is surrounded by copious giant ferns. Baker’s Falls derives its name from Sir Samuel Baker, a British man who discovered it in 1845. However, Baker is also credited with the short-sighted achievement of having shot 50 elephant, five deer and two buffaloes nearby.

DAY 03: NEGOMBO RELAXATION

Breakfast at the Hotel

Transfer to Negombo – 4 ½ hour drive approximately

Relax by the beach

Candle lit dinner (Champagne will be served) & Overnight stay at Jetwing beach

DAY 04: DEPARTURE

Early morning (3.00 AM) you will be transferred to the Airport for departure – 2 hours 15 minutes’ drive approximately to Bandaranayke International Airport to board the respective departure flight or next destination.

Note – All passengers are requested to be at the Departure Lounge 3 hours prior to the respective flight.
